Seemingly more head coaching vacancies throughout the Sunshine State continue to pop up and another one has been confirmed.

Robert Baham Jr. confirmed with SBLive Sports Florida that he’s stepping down as the head football coach at Wharton High School after one season at the helm.

Baham Jr. went 6-5 in his lone season, guiding the Wildcats to the Class 3M playoffs.

Promoted from defensive coordinator to head coach after the 2022 season, Baham Jr. brought familiarity to the program.

The Wildcats’ defense in 2022 allowed just 12.2 points per game (135 points through 11 games). Baham Jr. is an alum of Rutgers University.

Baham Jr. just over a year ago replaced Mike Williams, who had served as the head coach for the Wildcats for three seasons and led the program to a 8-3 record, losing in the Class 3M region quarterfinals to Oviedo 22-21 in overtime to conclude the 2022 campaign.

In three seasons with the school, Williams had an overall mark of 24-9 and three playoff appearances. Williams is now the head coach at Robinson High School.
