Louisiana high school football Top 25 rankings (11/15/2023)

With most teams receiving a bye in the first round of the playoffs - and those who didn't have a bye performing well - there were no changes in this week's SBLive Louisiana Top 25 rankings.
You'll want to keep reading for stats and info on the second-round contests, though.
Louisiana high school football playoff brackets updated for all select and non-select divisions
1. St. Thomas More, 10-0 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division II select No. 1)
The Cougars host No. 17 Istrouma (6-5), which defeated No. 16 Northside, 38-16. Istrouma's junior tailback, Kyree Paul, came into last week's first-round playoff game with 988 yards rushing on 97 carries and nine touchdowns. He went for 275 yards and three scores as the Indians advanced.
For the Cougars, quarterback Sam Altmann has thrown for 2,114 yards and 23 TDs with three interceptions. John Luke St. Pierre leads the backfield with 610 yards on 102 carries and eight TDs. Landon Strother has 46 catches for 783 yards and 10 TDs.
2. Destrehan, 10-0 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I non-select No. 3)
The Wildcats host No. 14 Belle Chasse (7-3), which defeated No. 19 Parkway, 43-15.
Destrehan QB Jackson Fields leads the New Orleans metro area with 2,033 yards passing and 20 TDs with six interceptions. Shane Lee has rushed for 692 yards on 82 carries with 17 TDs. Jabari Mack has 22 catches for 615 yards and four TDs.
3. Ruston, 10-0 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I non-select No. 1)
The Bearcats host No. 16 Westgate (7-4), which defeated No. 17 Terrebonne, 27-10.
There are rumors that Westgate's five-star defensive back, Jaboree Antoine, will return from a broken collarbone the junior suffered earlier in the year in a loss at Calvary Baptist. Antoine was the starting quarterback for Westgate, which reached the 2022 semifinals and won the 2021 Class 4A state title.
4. Calvary Baptist, 10-0 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division III select No. 2)
The Cavaliers host No. 15 Holy Savior Menard (8-3), a 23-8 winner over No. 18 Houma Christian. Junior tailback James Simon has rushed for 849 yards on 105 carries with 13 TDs.
5. St. Charles Catholic, 10-0 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division III select No. 1)
The Comets host No. 17 Ascension Episcopal (7-4), a 34-17 winner over No. 16 Loyola College Prep. Jeremiah Willis leads the Comets with 917 yards rushing on 150 carries with 11 TDs.
6. Neville, 8-1 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I non-select No. 2)
The Tigers host No. 18 Central-Baton Rouge, a 43-15 winner over No. 15 East St. John.
Central tailback Damon Blocker rushed for 1,011 yards on 144 carries with 11 TDs in the regular season and followed that with a 200-plus yard outing last week. QB Jackson Firmin has thrown for 1,605 yards and 15 TDs with nine interceptions. Neville hasn't played since Week 9.

7. University Lab, 9-1 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division III select No. 4)
The Cubs host No. 13 Patrick Taylor (9-2), which defeated No. 20 Sophie B. Wright, 52-42. University quarterback Emile Picarella has completed 100-of-135 passes for 1,079 yards and 27 TDs with three interceptions.
8. John Curtis Christian, 7-2 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I select No. 6)
The Patriots host No. 22 St. Augustine (4-7), which defeated No. 12 McKinley, 43-6.
John Curtis QB Dagan Bruno has passed for 1,142 yards and eight TDs with one interception. The Patriots defeated St. Augustine, 36-26, during the regular season.
9. Edna Karr, 8-1 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I select No. 5)
The Cougars host No. 21 Woodlawn-Baton Rouge, a 16-6 winner over No. 12 Huntington.
Karr sophomore QB John Johnson has passed for 1,698 yards and 19 TDs with two interceptions. LSU commit TaRon Francis has 33 catches for 538 yards and seven TDs.
10. Lafayette Christian, 8-2 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division II select No. 3)
The Knights host No. 14 Peabody Magnet (7-4), a 42-6 winner over No. 19 Booker T. Washington-New Orleans.
LSU commit Ju'Juan Johnson has passed for 2,489 yards and 32 TDs with seven interceptions. Johnson has rushed for 1,078 yards on 116 carries with 18 TDs.
11. Acadiana, 8-2 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I select No. 8)
The Rams host No. 9 Carencro (9-2), a 57-7 winner over No. 24 Pineville. The Rams nipped the Bears by one point during the regular season.
QB Caden DiBettta has completed 39-of-84 passes for 874 yards and 14 TDs with four interceptions.
12. Catholic-Baton Rouge, 8-2 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I select No. 3)
The Bears host No. 14 John Ehret (7-4), a 41-7 winner over No. 19 Riverdale. University of Louisiana QB commit Daniel Beale has passed for 2,058 yards and 29 TDs.
13. Zachary, 9-1 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I non-select No. 6)
The Broncos whipped No. 27 Barbe, 51-14. Zachary forced five turnovers, according to Reed Darcey of the Baton Rouge Advocate.
Kameron Thomas ended the regular season with 795 yards rushing on 107 carries and 11 TDs. LSU tight end commit Trey'Dez Green had 34 catches for 684 yards and seven TDs.
14. North DeSoto 9-1 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I non-select No. 1)
The Griffins host No. 17 DeRidder (7-4), a 28-21 winner over No. 16 Lakeshore.
Sophomore QB Luke Delafield has passed for 2,496 yards with 29 TDs and 10 interceptions. Kenny Thomas has rushed for 1,008 yards on 129 carries with 14 TDs. Trysten Hopper has rushed for 942 yards on 175 carries with 15 TDs.
15. Holy Cross, 8-2 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I select No. 1)
The Tigers host No. 16 Jesuit, a 23-2 winner over No. 17 C.E. Byrd. Holy Cross beat Jesuit, 30-0, in Week 9. Sophomore Ke'Rynn Smith has rushed for 791 yards on 116 carries with 16 TDs.
16. Captain Shreve, 9-1 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I select No. 2)
The Gators host No. 18 Archbishop Rummel (6-5), a 34-14 winner over No. 15 Northwood-Shreveport. Jamarlon Otis has rushed for 1,680 yards on 189 carries with 18 TDs.
17. Cecilia, 9-1 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division II non-select No. 2)
The Bulldogs host No. 15 Iota (8-3), a 35-6 winner over No. 18 Church Point.
Quarterback Diesel Solari has completed 75-of-108 passes for 1,043 yards and 16 TDs and has rushed for 1,071 yards on 114 carries with 23 TDs. He has returned three kicks for scores.
18. Archbishop Shaw, 8-2 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division II select No. 5)
The Eagles host No. 12 Evangel Christian (7-4), a 49-0 winner over No. 21 Belaire.
Jasper Parker has rushed for 874 yards on 113 carries with 16 TDs. Mason Wilson has thrown for 1,058 yards and 10 TDs with two interceptions.
19. E.D. White, 10-0 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division II select No. 2)
The Cardinals host No. 15 De La Salle (5-6), a 42-0 winner over No. 18 Buckeye. WR Paxton Lafont has 36 catches for 732 yards and 10 TDs.
20. Dutchtown, 9-1 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I non-select No. 7)
The Griffins blanked No. 26 South Lafourche, 42-0. Lakedrin Harvey ran for TDs of 36, 28 and 56 yards, and the Dutchtown defense held South Lafourche to 4 yards on 28 carries, according to Chris Chapple of the Baton Rouge Advocate.

21. Airline, 9-1 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I non-select No. 4)
The Vikings will host No. 13 Southside (8-3), a 42-9 winner over No. 20 Thibodaux.
Jarvis Davis has 1,082 yards receiving on 73 catches with eight TDs. Southside boasts two 1,000-yard rushers in Vernel Joseph and Ramon Singleton.
22. Carencro, 9-2 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I select No. 9)
The Bears defeated No. 24 Pineville, 57-7. QB Chantz Babineaux has passed for 2,178 yards and 28 TDs with seven interceptions.

24. St. Amant, 10-1 (LHSAA Playoff Standing - Division I non-select No. 5)
The Gators blitzed No. 28 Ouachita Parish, 31-3. Cooper Babin threw TD passes of 86 yards to Jermichael Millien and 78 yards to Luke Raffray, according to Kyle Rivere of the Baton Rouge Advocate.
