The Trojans are knocking on the door of another

The New Hope Trojans made quick work of Saltillo in their 5A Playoffs opener, winning their second-round match against the Tigers with a 3-0 sweep in straight games.

The Trojans (19-8) won the first game 25-16, the second 25-13 and held on in the third 25-20 to win the match and move on to the state quarterfinal. The loss ends the season for Saltillo (10-9).

New Hope will face Lafayette (22-15) Thursday night with a trip to the North State Championship on the line. The Commodores swept Ridgeland in straight sets Tuesday night.
