Hansel Enmanuel, one-armed basketball star, chooses Northwestern State over Memphis, others
Hansel Enmanuel was one of the biggest stories in high school sports in 2021-22.
Now the 6-foot-6 guard will take his growing talents and profile to Northwestern State in Louisiana. Penny Hardaway and Memphis offered Enmanuel a scholarship in February.
Enmanuel, who lost most of his left arm to amputation after a cinderblock wall collapsed on him at age 6 in the Dominican Republic, hasn't let his disability impede his brilliance on the basketball court.
He averaged 25.9 points, 11 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 3.4 blocks per game for Life Christian Academy in Kissimmee, Florida, last season.
Last week he was nominated for "Best Play" at this year's ESPY Awards.
In June, Enmanuel signed a new NIL deal with Gatorade and was featured in a video with rapper J. Cole in February.
