PLAYERS TO WATCH
G Aldi Boskovic, Jr., 5-5
Boskovic enters her third season on the varsity as one of the team leaders. “She is determined to showcase her skills this year,” Wilson said.
G Angie Rodriguez, Sr., 5-6
Rodriguez will be one of the team captains and plays multiple positions on the court. “She is our tempo on the court due to her knowledge of the game,” Wilson said.
G Shae Albert, So., 5-3
Albert started as a freshman and has demonstrated great improvement during preseason drills the past few weeks. “She has great confidence on and off the court,” Wilson said. “We are expecting Shae to shine on the court this year.”
F Sierra Winchester, Jr., 5-7
Winchester is an undersized post player who is willing to battle against taller foes. “She has the potential to become a true four,” Wilson said. “Her aggressiveness and willingness to learn are what make her stand out.”
OUTLOOK
The Warriors have lost 48 consecutive league games dating to January 2017, haven’t reached the postseason since 2014 and have not posted a winning season since 1993.
Wilson is in Year 3 of her rebuilding plan, and her enthusiasm for the job hasn’t waned despite the challenges she faces. She has 10 players returning from last season, including third-year varsity players Rodriguez, Boskovic and Winchester. Albert went from potential JV swing player to varsity starter by the end of her freshman season. All four will serve as captains this spring.
