Hudson Giertych ran for the Titans’ first two scores to launch West Salem (9-1) to the victory over the visiting Democrats (5-5) of North Portland, who got a strong game rushing from quarterback Dondrae Fair and 10 tackles from Jeremiah Matthews.
Brooks Ferguson returned an interception for a touchdown for the Titans’ defense, which posted its second consecutive shutout. Roman Burrow and Tommy Slack also had interceptions.
Burrow and Johnny Withers ran for a touchdown each, and Zach Dodson-Greene caught a scoring pass.
Friday’s game gives the Titans three players — Giertych, Withers and Ferguson — all with more than 500 yards and 12 touchdowns rushing this season.
