Here are all the other athletes that were nominated for Oct. 17-23:

Elijah Clark, Riverside, Football

There’s a lot to be said for controlling the line of scrimmage. The 6-foot-4, 270-pound senior was dominant in the Pirates’ 47-21 win over Chapel Hill. Clark made 9 tackles, including 5 for loss, had 3 sacks and 2 quarterback hurries.

Tad Hudson, Hough, Football

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound North Carolina commit was nearly flawless, completing 10 of 12 passes for 245 yards and a touchdown. He ran for a pair of touchdowns, too.

Raegan LeRoy, Southwestern Randolph, Volleyball

A junior setter, LeRoy had 30 assists in the defending 2-A state champions’ 3-1 win over Bandys in the first round of the playoffs. Earlier in the week, she had a whopping 64 assists in a marathon, five-set win over Randleman in the PAC-7 tournament final.

Everett Scott, Weddington, Soccer

A junior midfielder/forward, Scott scored two goals and an assist in the Warriors’ 6-1 win over Cuthbertson. He had one goal in Weddington’s 3-2 victory over Piedmont.

Lyndsay Reid, East Davidson, Volleyball

The senior outside hitter/setter has been a force all season. In a first-round 2-A state playoff match, Reid pounded 23 kills and got 27 digs as the Golden Eagles beat Providence Grove 3-1. She had 20 kills and 30 digs in East’s straight-set win over regular season champion West Davidson in the Central Carolina Conference tournament finals.

Justin Little, Independence, Football

The sophomore quarterback was 16 of 21 for 259 yards and a touchdown. He also had 55 yards with 2 touchdowns on 7 carries in a 52-7 rout of Rocky River. That’s what you call being extremely productive.

Xavier Pugh, Millbrook, Football

It's hard to top this performance. Pugh carried 11 times for 159 yard and 3 touchdowns. He also caught 4 passes for 70 yards and a touchdown in Millbrook’s 38-14 win over Knightdale.

Emily Matthews, Eastern Alamance, Golf

The Virginia Tech commit, who is a junior, shot a 3-over-par 74 to win the women's 3-A Central regional tournament.

Matthew Keener, East Surry, Football

A senior wide receiver, Keener caught 6 passes for 115 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 54-7 win over West Wilkes.
