AZ Compass Prep small forward Mookie Cook was once the highest-rated recruit in the history of Oregon high school basketball at Jefferson High School.

On Wednesday evening, the nation's No. 5 overall prospect also became a "once Oregon Ducks commit," as he reopened his recruitment:

"I would first like to say thank you to Coach (Dana) Altman and the entire basketball coaching staff at the University of Oregon for believing in me," he posted to Instagram.

"I am grateful for their support, as well as the fans'. However, after much consideration and talks with my family,. I have decided to reopen my recruitment. During this time I will weigh other options in addition to the University of Oregon."

"I look forward to the continued support as I embark on this journey."

The 6-foot-7, 200-pound forward holds offers from Arizona, Auburn, Gonzaga, Kansas, Kentucky, Memphis, Michigan, UCLA, USC and others.

Cook is playing "high school LeBron James" in a movie about the living legend's life, set for release at a later date.
