I'Marion Stewart, 4-star wide receiver, chooses Michigan, says 'definitely a few commits coming'

I'Marion Stewart chose Michigan over Oregon, Tennessee and Wisconsin

It has been a banner week for Kenwood Academy (Illinois) four-star wide receiver/athlete I'Marion Stewart.

The dynamic playmaker has been stellar at the Elite 11 Finals, establishing himself as one of the nation's most dangerous athletes.

On Friday, Stewart used the platform to announce his committing, choosing the Michigan Wolverines over fellow finalists Oregon, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

“I’m going to the Big House,” he said. 

For Stewart, the biggest key to his recruitment was the bond he built with one of the coaches. 

 "I’ve got a great relationship with Coach Bellamy. He’s been recruiting me ever since they offered me, since my sophomore year. Me and Jim Harbaugh have got a great relationship. I’ll fit in perfectly in their offense.”

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound pass-catcher has been considered a heavy Michigan lean for some time, but his official visit to Ann Arbor last weekend proved to be the final piece of the puzzle.

During his trip, the Wolverines talked about using Stewart as an overall playmaker. 

"As we all know, I've been to Michigan a few times... about six-to-eight times," he said. "The offense they run, they can use me a lot of ways in that offense. Coach Bellamy compared me to Roman Wilson in all of the ways they get him the ball - the run game, the pass game, kick return, punt return." 

Turns out, Stewart wasn't the only one who was impressed during his visit.

Last weekend, Michigan hosted a massive list of official visitors and there were almost immediate rumblings of multiple commitments.

Stewart hinted those rumors are well-founded. 

“There are definitely a few commits coming,” he said. “It was good vibes.”
