Coach of the Week

Congratulations to last week's winner: Aaron Brand of Irmo.

Here are this week's nominations.

Rusty Charpia, Brookland-Cayce

The Bearcats beat previously undefeated Hampton County 28-14. That win snapped a two-game losing streak in which the Bearcats fell in both games by a touchdown. Brookland-Cayce is 3-2.

Earl Chaptman, Midland Valley

Midland Valley rolled over Swansea 77-0 to easily remain undefeated. The Mustangs (6-0) have already won more than games during last season’s 5-6 campaign.

Dwayne Stukes, Manning

The Monarchs overwhelmed Baptist Hill 64-14. They’re riding high at 5-0 and on the way to another highly successful season.

Jason Allen, Aynor

Aynor won a 22-18 thriller with Conway for its third consecutive win. The Blue Jackets are 3-2 after opening the season with two losses.

Neil Minton, Florence Christian

The Eagles ran over John Paul II 42-7 to open SCISA region play. It was the second win in a row for Florence Christian, which opened the season 0-3.

Brian Lane, Westside

Westside outscored Greer 56-42 for its fourth win in a row after opening the season with a loss. The Rams have gone over 40 points in each of the wins.

Rodney Barr, Ridgeland-Hardeeville

The Jaguars beat Bethune-Bowman 38-16 for their third win of the season. It's the program's first three-win season since 2017.

Jeff Fruster, Daniel

The undefeated Lions are roaring ahead toward what looks like another deep run in the 3-A state playoffs. They’re 5-0 after a 56-14 win over Riverside. All the wins have been runaways.

Sheldon Evans, Crescent

Crescent was 4-7 last season. The Tigers (4-1) equaled their win total from last season in a 28-12 win over Emerald.

Dan Jones, Gaffney

The Indians outlasted Lower State power Fort Dorchester 48-40 in a possible 5-A playoff preview. It was a nice rebound for the Indians (4-2), who fell to 4-A finalist Northwestern last week.
