We have 10 athletes nominated this week for SBLive’s South Carolina High School Athlete of the Week from Dec. 10-16 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Dec. 23 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Hayden White, East Clarendon, Girls Basketball

The 5-foot-7 senior guard had 24 points, 9 rebounds and 9 steals in a 53-31 win over Hannah-Pamplico. Earlier in the week, Hayden scored 22 points in a 56-25 win over Green Sea Floyds. White completed her outstanding week by scoring 21 points in a 50-36 win over Manning.

Joliyah Robinson, Orangeburg-Wilkinson, Girls Basketball

Robinson scored 23 points and had 4 assists in the undefeated Bruinettes’ 60-33 win over Lake Marion. The 5-foot-6 freshman guard also had 16 points in a 49-37 win over Woodland.

Carmello McDaniel, Hartsville, Football

McDaniel had a 64-yard touchdown run and was named Offensive MVP in the North-South game, won by the South 28-8.

Dakota Jordan, Dutch Fork, Football

The 5-foot-11, 214-pound defensive lineman returned a fumble 26 yards for a touchdown for the South in the fourth quarter of the North-South game.

Yasir Cromer, River Bluff, Boys Basketball

Cromer scored 16 points and had 6 assists in the Gators’ 81-50 win over Midland Valley.

Michael Jones, Pinewood Prep, Boys Basketball

The 6-foot-5 guard scored 30 points and had 10 rebounds in the Panthers’ 90-69 win over Laurence Manning Academy. Then he had 25 points in a 63-59 win over Bishop England.

Ava Owens, Pickens, Girls Basketball

Owens did just about everything in the undefeated Blue Flame’s 51-45 win over Walhalla. The sophomore point guard had 24 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.

Braysen Stockman, Ben Lippen, Boys Basketball

The 6-foot-2 guard had a huge game with 21 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals as Ben Lippen beat Northside Christian 74-54.

Sam Medalie, Atlantic Collegiate Academy

The 6-foot-3 transfer from Franklin, Tennessee scored 26 points as the Armada beat Morehead (N.C.) 76-71. Medalie displayed a fine shooting touch, connecting on six 3-pointers.

Matthew Wilson, Rock Hill, Football

The Bearcats’ quarterback, who has committed to Appalachian State, was named Offensive MVP of the Shrine Bowl, won by South Carolina, 24-0.
