Here are 10 athletes for your voting consideration

We have 10 athletes nominated this week for SBLive’s South Carolina High School Athlete of the Week from Jan. 8-14 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Jarett Eubanks, Catawba Ridge, Boys Wrestling

Eubanks won the 175-pound weight class at the 2024 Bearcat Invitational without allowing a single point in the entire tournament.

Josh Gamble, West Florence, Boys Basketball

Gamble poured in 31 points as the Knights surprised North Myrtle Beach 65-60 in region action. Gamble leads the Knights with 15.6 points a game.

Tayshaun Jackson, Hunter-Kinard-Tyler, Boys Basketball

Jackson scored 20 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals as the Trojans downed Wagener-Salley 49.

Nas Berry, Fort Mill, Boys Basketball

Berry scored 22 points in Fort Mill’s 58-48 win over Blythewood.

Malik Ashe, Rock Hill, Boys Basketball

The senior guard scored 23 points as the Bearcats edged Spring Valley 49-47 in a region game.

Jaeda Davis, Marion, Girls Basketball

Davis put up 31 points in the Swamp Foxes’ 73-18 drubbing of Andrews.

Ashanti Johnson, Edisto, Girls Basketball

Johnson produced a double-double of 20 points and 12 assists in the Cougars’ 47-36 victory over Barnwell.

Montero Royal, Goose Creek, Boys Wrestling

Royal won the 106-pound class in the 2024 Bearcat Invitational. Royal won the championship match by pinning his opponent in just six seconds.

Amirah Brown, Bluffton, Girls Basketball

The 5-foot-5 freshman standout had 27 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals in the Bobcats’ 64-48 win over Lucy Beckham. Brown is averaging 14.7 points a game.

Miley White, West-Oak, Girls Basketball

The 5-foot-11 sophomore had 12 points and 8 rebounds as the Warriors held off Daniel 31-29 in a defensive battle. White is averaging 7.3 points per game.
