We have 10 players nominated this week for SBLive’s South Carolina Girls Basketball Player of the Week from Feb. 5-10 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Payton Rumley, Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach

Rumley posted a tremendous triple double of 18 points, 19 rebounds and 12 steals as the Saints rolled past Williamsburg Academy 46-14 to clinch their region championship.

Jaleya Ford, Lake View

Ford scored 31 points in the Wild Gators’ 79-36 rout of Hannah-Pamplico. The 5-foot-6 senior averages 21.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.1 steals.

Ceddrianna Springs, Saluda

Springs is just an eighth grader and she’s already a star. In a 39-34 come-from-behind win over Ninety Six, Springs scored 27 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter.

Anasia Harvey, Ridge View

Harvey scored 18 points as the Blazers beat A.C. Flora 64-47 to win their first region championship since 2017.

Makiah Thompson, Westwood

Thompson scored 20 points and went over 1,000 for her career in the Redhawks’ 64-47 win over A.C. Flora. The 5-foot-5 senior leads Westwood with 15.7 points per game.

Zikira Henderson, Blue Ridge

The Brevard signee scored 20 points and got 6 rebounds in the Fighting Tigers, who have won four straight region championships, beat Travelers Rest 52-34.

Kiersten Woods, East Clarendon

The 6-foot center scored 19 points and got 11 rebounds in the Wolverines’ 47-38 win over Scott’s Branch. And she’s only in the eighth grade.

Araina Ross, Sumter

Here’s another eighth grader who is a star. Ross scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in the undefeated Gamecocks’ 62-26 victory over St. James. The 5-foot-7 forward/guard averages 13.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.8 steals.

Makiyah Johnson, Bethune-Bowman

Johnson had an overwhelming performance with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 12 steals in Bethune-Bowman’s 52-12 rout of Branchville. The 5-foot sophomore averages 9.5 points per game.

Kaleigh Lucas, South Pointe

Lucas is yet another eighth-grade player who is already a star. The 5-foot-4 point guard scored 26 points to go along with 8 assists and 7 steals in the Stallions’ 90-9 rout of York.
