With the second half of the MLB season underway, we have officially entered trade season.

In just a few weeks, the MLB trade deadline will be here, and many of the league's top contenders will look a little different.

The Dodgers are going to be among the top players in this year's deadline, as they have tons of needs, mainly on the pitching side of things.

However, the Dodgers need a right-handed bat, too, and while they could look for a small upgrade — similar to the Jake Marisnick one — they could also go big.

Personally, I think the Dodgers should go big, and there's no bigger right-handed bat they can get — assuming Shohei Ohtani isn't traded — than Cardinals superstar third baseman Nolan Arenado.

Arenado has made the last eight All-Star Games, and is a 10-time Gold Glove Award winner and six-time Platinum Glove Award winner at third base.

He can hit for power, hit for average and drive in runs, and would fit in perfectly in the middle of the Dodgers' lineup.

Additionally, he could replace Muncy at third base — an area he's struggled this season — and instantly give the Dodgers the best third base defense in the league.

Then, Muncy could move to second base — where Miguel Vargas was playing before he was optioned — and the Dodgers could feel much better about their infield defense.

Obviously, a package for Arenado — who's under contract through 2027 — would need a lot of assets, but there's no team in better position than the Dodgers to make that sort of move.

They could package any number of their top prospects in the deal, something they need to do sooner rather than later as they're starting to have a logjam of MLB-ready talent in the minor leagues.

The Dodgers aren't likely to go too crazy this deadline with Ohtani's impending free agency. But if there was any move that made sense to go big for, it's getting Nolan Arenado to be the third baseman of the next half-decade for LA.
