2024 NBA Draft: Top Prospects In Sweet 16

We are down to 16 teams remaining in the NCAA tournament after an exciting first weekend. Who are the best prospects remaining in the tournament?

There are only 16 teams remaining in the NCAA tournament, but still many quality NBA prospects still playing. With the games resuming on Thursday, let’s dive into the top three prospects who are still fighting at a chance to win a championship.

Stephon Castle | UConn

Stephon Castle

Stephon Castle

Stephon Castle is a 6-foot-6 combo guard who is a potential top-ten pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. The talented freshman thrives as a slasher and secondary playmaker. His size, interior touch and craft inside the painted area allow him to be one of the best guard finishers in the entire draft.

You pair his ability to pressure the rim with his impressive vision and passing ability then you have a really enticing secondary creator. The pull-up jumper and 3-point shooting is still an area of improvement for Castle, but his talent and production for the top team in the tournament is undeniable.

Kyle Filipowski | Duke

Kyle Filipowski, Raekwon Horton

Kyle Filipowski, Raekwon Horton

Kyle Filipowski is a 7-foot skilled big man who brings a ton of offensive versatility and underrated defense to the table. The sophomore is considered a potential top-ten pick due to how productive he is, how well he can score it and because he's one of the best passing centers in this year’s draft. If given enough minutes Filipowski can be a double-double machine at the next level.

Some scouts have even gone as far as to compare him to King’s star Domantas Sabonis. Filipowski improved as a shooter, his mobility and as a defender this season which has played a big factor in him being a potential top-ten pick in this year’s draft. If he continues to produce in the NCAA tournament then his stock will continue to rise.

Dalton Knecht | Tennessee

Dalton Knecht

Dalton Knecht

Dalton Knecht is a 6-foot-6 fifth-year senior who is a potential lottery pick in June's draft. The talented wing is one of the best pure scorers and shot-makers in this upcoming class. His ability to score it at all three levels off the dribble or off the catch is very impressive. He’s comfortable coming off of screens and shooting difficult movement jumpers while also being capable of attacking the rim and finishing through defenders.

He has led Tennessee to a ton of success this season and is a big factor in why they are still standing tall in the NCAA tournament. Although there are some defensive and age concerns when it comes to Knecht, we rarely see someone with this type of scoring ability, vertical pop and shooting ability.
