Season Schedule

The Eagles' 2022 regular-season schedule:

Sunday, Sept. 11: at Detroit Lions, 1:00 p.m., FOX

WIN, 38-35. All three Eagles RBs and QB Jalen Hurts had rushing TDs in the win while James Bradberry notched a 27-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Monday, Sept. 19: Minnesota Vikings, 8:30 p.m., ABC

WIN, 24-7. Jalen Hurts and the defense were brilliant. Darius Slay notched two interceptions and Avonte Maddox one. Hurts completed 83.8 percent of his passes (26-for-31) for 333 yards with another 57 yards rushing. He had two rushing scores and threw for another.

Sunday, Sept. 25: at Washington Commanders, 1:00 p.m., FOX

WIN, 24-8. WR DeVonta Smith turned in an outstanding performance, setting new single-game, career-highs in catches (8) and yards (169). He also had a touchdown catch. Jalen Hurts threw for three touchdowns, one to Smith, one to A.J. Brown, and the other to Dallas Goedert. The defense sacked Carson Wentz nine times.

Sunday, Oct. 2: Jacksonville Jaguars, 1:00 p.m., CBS

WIN, 29-21. A week after piling up nine sacks, the Eagles defense forced five turnovers - all from Jags QB Trevor Lawrence, who lost four fumbles and threw an interception.

James Bradberry had the pick inside the red zone and Haason Reddick had two strip-sack fumbles, one receiver by Reddick, the other by Javon Hargrave, which sealed the win.

Reddick became the third Eagles defensive player to win NFC Defensive Player of the Week, following up on Darius Slay winning in Week 2 and Brandon Graham in Week 3.

The Eagles ran for 210 yards, getting 134 yards on 27 carries from Miles Sanders, both career highs. Sanders also ran for two touchdowns. In a game played in monsoon-like conditions, all four Eagles' scores came on the ground, with Jalen Hurts and Kenny Gainwell each getting one.

Sunday, Oct. 9: at Arizona Cardinals, 4:25 p.m., FOX

WIN, 20-17. It was a struggle to get to 5-0 and remain the league's only beaten team, but the Eagle found a way. They got a 23-yard field goal from rookie kicker Cameron Dicker in his pro debut with 1:45 to play that stood as the game-winner after Matt Ammendola missed a 43-yard try in the final seconds.

Dicker also made a 42-yard field goal with 9:57 to play in the third quarter that upped Philly's lead to 17-10.

The offense used a 17-play drive that chewed up 7:58 of the clock before Dicker made the game-winner. They ran it 13 times on the drive for 56 yards, but the march included a 16-yard completion to Dallas Goedert on third-and-11.

Sunday, Oct. 16: Dallas Cowboys, 8:20 p.m., NBC

WIN, 26-17. The Eagles raced to a 14-0 lead and grew it to 20-3 at halftime to end the Cowboys' winning streak at four games. Now 6-0 overall, the Eagles are also 2-0 inside the NFC East.

Jalen Hurts threw touchdown passes of 15 yards to A.J. Brown and, in the fourth quarter, a 7-yard strike to DeVonta Smith.

The defense intercepted Dallas QB Cooper Rush three times. Rush had been 5-0 as QB and hadn't thrown an interception in his four starts this year.

Safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson had two of the picks and Darius Slay had the other. Both players now lead the team with three interceptions each.

Sunday, Oct. 23: BYE

Sunday, Oct. 30: Pittsburgh Steelers, 1:00 p.m., CBS

WIN, 35-13. The Eagles jumped on the Steelers early and never let them back in the game after Pittsburgh knotted the score at 7-7 late in the first quarter en route to the blowout.

A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts had career days.

Brown had 156 yards receiving and three TDs, all career highs. His scores came from 39, 27, and 29 yards.

Hurts threw four touchdown passes for the first time in his career and now has 10 of them this season to go along with six rushing TDs. His passer rating of 140.7 was a career-high as well.

The defense held the Steeler to just one third down conversion in 12 tries and forced two more turnovers to give them an NFL-best 16 on the season.

The first turnover was a strip-sack fumble from Javon Hargrave, who had his best game of the season, contributing eight tackles and two sacks. Avonte Maddox recovered the fumble.

The second turnover came from safety Chauncey-Gardner Johnson, which gave his a team-high four this year and they have all come in the last three games.

Linebackers T.J. Edwards had 13 tackles and Kyzir White made 11.

Thursday, Nov. 3: at Houston Texans, 8:15 p.m., Prime Video

WIN, 29-17. For the first time this season, the Eagles didn't hold the lead at halftime. The Texans played a tough first half and a touchdown in the final minute of the second quarter sent them into the locker room at intermission tied, 14-14.

The key play in the second half was yet another interception from safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, his NFL-leading fifth. CGJ made a diving pick, got up, and ran 25 yards to set the Eagles up at Houston's 17.

On the second play from there, Jalen Hurts threw the first of his two second-half TDs, this one a 17-yard strike to A.J. Brown. The QB's other was a 4-yard toss to Dallas Goedert, who had eight catches for 100 yards.

The score gave the Eagle a 29-17 lead in the fourth quarter.

Javon Hargrave had a career-high three sacks while James Bradberry added another interception, his third of the year and the team's 12th.

The win was historic because the Eagles had never started a season at 8-0 in their 89-year history.

Monday, Nov. 14: Washington Commanders, 8:15 p.m., ESPN

LOSS, 32-21. The Eagles self-destructed, losing the turnover battle, 4-2. They had three fumbles in the final quarter when they were trying to rally. One, by Dallas Goedert, was caused by a false man from LB Jamin Davis that did not get called as a penalty.

The tight end also suffered an injury on the play.

Also, for the first time this season, the Eagles trailed at halftime. The Commanders led 20-13.

The Eagles run defense was porous. Though there were no huge runs, Washington rookie Brian Robinson had 26 carries for 86 yards and one TD. As a team, the Commanders piled up 49 runs for 152 yards.

Time of possession was also an extreme mismatch, with Washington owning the ball for more than 40 minutes while the Eagles had it for less than 20.

Sunday, Nov. 20: at Indianapolis Colts, 1:00 p.m., CBS

WIN, 17-16. It appeared the Eagles were heading for their second straight loss, down 13-3 entering the final quarter. But Jalen Hurts threw for a 22-yard TD to Quez Watkins and ran for a 7-yard score to prevent it from happening.

It was the first time the Eagles overcame a double-digit in the fourth quarter to win since 2010 when DeSean Jackson had a walk-off punt return.

Hurts extended his streak of accounting for at least two touchdowns in a game to six games, which is the tied longest active streak in the league behind Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes.

The Eagles' defense did its part as well.

After surrendering a TD on the Colts' first possession of the game, they didn't allow another touchdown. They gave up three field goals, but one of those came after an Eagles turnover set Indy up at Philly's 22. the defense held from there.

With veteran newcomers Ndamukong Suh and Linval Joseph signed earlier in the week, the run defense held the Colts to 99 yards rushing, snapping a streak of five straight games where teams ran for at least 120.

Sunday, Nov. 27: Green Bay Packers, 8:20 p.m., NBC

WIN, 40-33. The Eagles unleashed a powerful running attack against the hapless Green Bay run defense, compiling 363 yards, the most ever in the team's Super Bowl era, and just 15 yards away from breaking the record for most ground yards set in 1948.

Jalen Hurts ran for 157 yards and Miles Sanders 143, both career highs. Sanders also rushed for two touchdowns to give him a career-high eight on the season with a career-high 900 yards on the ground.

Hurts became the first player in league history to put up 150-plus yards (he had 157) and 150-plus rushing yards in the same game.

The Eagles intercepted Packers QB Aaron Rodgers twice, with Josiah Scott and Reed Blankenship both getting the first picks of their young careers.

The win made the Eagles the first team to reach 10 wins this season and they are now 10-1, winning two straight after losing to Washington.

Sunday, Dec. 4: Tennessee Titans, 1:00 p.m., FOX

WIN, 35-10. The Eagles played perhaps their most complete game in all three phases.

A week after beating the Packers with his legs, Jalen Hurts threw for 380 yards with three touchdown passes and one rushing. The defense held Tennessee to 11 first downs and 209 total yards, with Derrick Henry rushing for just 30 yards.

Hurts won his second straight NFC Offensive Player of the Week award.

Sunday, Dec. 11: at New York Giants, 1:00 p.m., FOX

WIN, 48-22. It's the second straight week the Eagles blew a team out and pulled their starters in the fourth quarter.

Miles Sanders ran for a career-high 144 yards with two touchdowns, one from 3 yards, the other from 40. He eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing for the first time in his four-year career and first Eagles player to do it since LeSean McCoy in 2014.

His TDs gave him 11, which is the first time an Eagles RB ran for double-digit TDs since McCoy set a franchise record with 17 in 2011.

A.J. Brown had 70 yards receiving and snared his 10th TD of the season. He is the first Eagles WR to top 1,000 since Jeremy Maclin in 2014.

Sanders and Brown became just the second RB/WR to rush for 1,000 yards, record 1,000 yards receiving, and score at least 10 TDs in a season. The only other time it happened was in 1996 when Ricky Watters ad Irving Fryar accomplished it.

Defensively, the Eagles rang up seven sacks to reach 49 for the season. Brandon Graham had three to give him 8.5. Haason Reddick notched his 10th of the season to hit double-figures for the third straight year and first NFL player to do that with three different teams.

Fletcher Cox also had a sack and has one in each of his last three games.

The win made the Eagles 12-1 and clinched a playoff berth.

Sunday, Dec. 18: at Chicago Bears, 1:00 p.m., FOX

WIN, 25-20. It was a costly victory that made the Eagles 13-1 when Jalen Hurts was driven into the frozen grass at Soldier Field with one minute to play in the third quarter. The tackle left the MVP candidate with a sprained throwing shoulder.

Hurts remained in the game and hooked up with A.J. Brown for a 68-yard completion that led to the Eagles' final touchdown that put them ahead 25-13 with 4:20 to play in the final quarter.

The QB threw for 315 yards and ran for 61 yards, including three rushing touchdowns.

Both Brown and DeVonta Smith went over 100 yards receiving, with Brown having nine catches for 181 yards and Smith making five receptions for 126 yards.

Saturday, Dec. 24: at Dallas Cowboys, 4:25 p.m. FOX

LOSS, 40-34. Jalen Hurts did not play in the Christmas Eve game, but Gardner Minshew did some nice things despite throwing two interceptions that were contested by Dallas DBs.

Minshew threw for 355 yards and a pair of TDs to DeVonta Smith.

The offense, though, committed four turnovers. Minshew botched an exchange with Boston Scott and Miles Sanders laid one on the ground late and deep in Eagles territory.

The Eagles' defense played its worst game of the season, allowing Dak Prescott to go 24-for-24 passing against their zone. The D also allowed a third-and-30 completion which was the turning point in the game.

Sunday, Jan. 1: New Orleans Saints, 1:00 p.m., FOX

LOSS, 20-10. Easily the most disappointing defeat of the three losses the Eagles had this season. New Orleans entered with six wins and nothing much really to play for without getting much help elsewhere.

Gardner Minshew's second start wasn't nearly as good as his first, but nobody played well in this game, and the playcalling and game plan were also culprits in the loss.

Minshew threw a pick-6 to Marshawn Lattimore with 5:27 to play in a game that the Eagles were still in, trailing 13-10.

One bright spot was DeVonta Smith, who had nine catches for 115 yards and the Eagles' lone TD came on a 78-yard completion to A.J. Brown.

Sunday, Jan. 8: New York Giants, 4:25 p.m.

WIN, 22-16. Needing a win to clinch the NFC East title and earn the top seed in the NFC playoffs, the Eagles started quickly, taking a 16-0 lead at halftime that swelled to 19-0 with 6:17 to go in the third quarter.

The win gave them a final record of 14-3.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts returned after missing two games, but the Eagles and Hurts played it safe, opting not to put him in danger with the running game and he had 13 yards on the ground. He also threw a red-zone interception, his first turnover in that area of the season.

Jake Elliott was the hero with a career-high five field goals from 32, 52, 39, 54, and 22 yards.

The defense got two sacks to finish with 70, just two shy of tying the NFL record for most in a season set by the 1984 Chicago Bears.

The 14 wins were the most in franchise history. Previously, only two teams had won 13 games - the 2004 and 2017 teams, both of which went to the Super Bowl.
