How Chelsea Green’s WWE Interim Women’s Championship Win will Impact her Hobby Market

Night two of WWE’s SummerSlam delivered some incredible moments for wrestling fans. Some of the highlights included former WWE champion Kevin Owens making his surprise return 16 months after suffering what was considered to be a career-ending neck injury, Baron Corbin dethroned rising star Trick Williams to win the United States Championship, and Chad Gable finally claimed his first singles title by winning the Intercontinental Championship from Penta.

Those weren’t the only title changes that took place at SummerSlam. Perhaps the biggest and most exciting took place after the ladder match to crown an Interim WWE Women’s Champion. After years of steadily ascending up the ladder of WWE (no pun intended but totally intended!), the CommandHer-in-Chic, Chelsea Green claimed her first WWE Women’s World Championship. In this article I’ll discuss what her championship win means for her collectible market
Championship Win Celebrated with a Topps NOW Card

Topps wasted no time in celebrating Chelsea Green’s big win by releasing a Topps NOW card. The photo chosen features Green sitting on top of the ladder with the Interim title raised over her head in victory. The series features the standard low print parallels from gold numbered to 50, orange to 25, black to 10, red to 5, and the 1/1 foilfractor.

Thankfully for collectors, this set also contains autographs with 16 total chases. The autos are numbered from black to 10, red to 5, and include a 1/1 foilfractor auto. Unlike other 1/1 autos from recent Topps NOW sets, the foilfractor does not include an inscription, but I doubt that will affect its value.
What Green’s Win Means for Collectors

For collectors and fans, this win only means good things. Green has had an under-the-radar but strong collectibles market. For example, her WWE Topps Chrome base autos have been selling for a respectable $50-60 per eBay sales data. I would expect those sale prices to go up now that she’s the champion.

As for the previously discussed Topps NOW cards, I would expect those to be particularly popular amongst fans and collectors. The autograph cards in particular could end up being some of the more valuable Chelsea Green cards should they reach the market.
That being said, Chelsea Green has always been not just one of the more talented female wrestlers in WWE but one of the more talented wrestlers period. As I have discussed in previous articles, she absolutely makes the most out of every minute she is given on television, whether a match, an interview or a promo.

Collectors should take note that now, with her Interim WWE Women’s title win, the accolades are finally catching up with the talent. So my advice to all the fans and collectors out there is that if you haven’t pledged allegiance to the CommandHER-in-Chic yet, now is the time to do so before it’s too late!
