Alabama Basketball Forward Nick Pringle Enters Transfer Portal

Pringle will be finding a new home to spend his final year of college eligibility.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama basketball had its fifth player enter the transfer portal on Tuesday, as On3 Sports reported senior forward Nick Pringle will be transferring for his final year of eligibility.

It will be Pringle's fourth school in his 5-year college career. He began his career at Wofford in 2020-21, before transferring down to the JUCO level for his sophomore year. He then came to Tuscaloosa before the 2022-23 season and spent two seasons at Alabama. Because of his extra COVID year, he still has one year of eligibility left.

Pringle had an up-and-down season for the Crimson Tide, serving multiple suspensions during the year for 'conduct detrimental to the team.' However, he turned a corner and became an emotional leader for Alabama during its first-ever run to the Final Four, and also served as the starter for the latter half of the tournament.

He finished the season averaging 6.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, and posted a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double in the Elite Eight against Clemson in one of his best games of the year.

With Pringle's exit, Alabama now has two open scholarship for next year, although more departures are assumed to be on the way in the coming weeks by way of either the transfer portal or the NBA Draft. Pringle joins Rylan Griffen, Sam Walters, Davin Cosby Jr., and Kris Parker as scholarship Alabama players that have entered the portal since season's end.
