This week was harder than most to determine a winner for the BamaCentral Crimson Tide Pro Athlete of the Week, as many former Crimson Tide athletes stood out in their respective sports.

One stood out above the rest, and that is Quanesha Burks.

Burks won her first indoor long jump competition of the season at the Dr. Sander Invitational, setting meet records in five of six jumps. She also defeated the defending USA Track & Field long jump champion, Brittany Reese, in the process.

During her time at the University of Alabama from 2013-2017, Burks set multiple school records in the 4x100 meter relay, outdoor long jump, and indoor long jump. In 2015, she won the NCAA national indoor long jump championship. Burks was also an SEC champion in 2015 and 2016 in the outdoor long jump.

Others for consideration ...

  • Cleveland Cavalier guard Collin Sexton posted a 29-point performance against the Wizards. On Monday, Sexton led the Cavaliers to a 115-100 victory over the Pistons, scoring 23 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
  • Los Angeles Clippers forward Jamychal Green recorded a double-double against the Heat on Friday in the team's 122-117 win. He had 14 points, while grabbing 10 rebounds.
  • Former Crimson Tide swimmer Anton McKee won two gold medals over the weekend in the Reykjavík Games. The events McKee won were the 100m Breast and the 200m Breast relays.
