As we are just days away from the 2023 NFL Draft, many questions for every position have come up as to which player is better. One position that’s recently made headlines is at running back.

There’s a clear top-2 for the running back position in this year's draft: Texas’ Bijan Robinson and Alabama’s Jahmyr Gibbs.

Robinson is more of a power back and has received comparisons to New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley. Gibbs is more of a receiving back and has gained comparisons to New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara.

Gibbs rushed for 926 yards on 151 carries (6.1 yard per carry) and seven touchdowns in 2022. In his only season dressed in crimson and white, Gibbs recorded 44 receptions for 444 yards and three touchdowns.

Robinson rushed for 1580 yards on 258 yards (6.1 yards per carry) and 18 touchdowns in 2022. He recorded 19 receptions for 314 yards and two touchdowns.

The top-2 running back prospects went head-to-head in a week two battle was the most streamed regular season college football or NFL game in FOX history. The Crimson Tide defeated the Longhorns 20-19.

Both Gibbs and Robinson struggled on the ground as the two of them combined for 79 rushing yards, Robinson scored a touchdown and was responsible for 57 of those yards. However, they thrived through the air as Gibbs had nine receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown, while Robinson had three receptions for 73 yards.

Robinson has been considered the top running back prospect for multiple years and seems to hold a consensus edge over Gibbs. However, they both bring different assets to the table and that could decide who is first off the board on Thursday at 7 p.m. CT.
