The questions about Tua Tagovailoa's future have been answered as the Miami Dolphins elected to pick up the former Alabama quarterback's fifth-year option.

Tagovailoa's salary will be $23.2 million, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

The former Alabama quarterback played 13 games last season, where he completed 64.8 percent of his passes for 3,548 yards, 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Despite his productive season, there were doubts about whether or not Tagovailoa could be the quarterback to lead Miami into the future, mainly because of the concussions he suffered this season.

Tagovailoa's two concussions not only sparked a debate about whether or not he could be the team's future quarterback, but whether or not he should play football anymore. Fans and media alike were concerned about what life would look like after football for him because of the noticeable impact of the concussions; remember, it took Tua weeks to be cleared from his second concussion.

But with the Dolphins picking up his option, it sends a message that he is a part of the future, bur more importantly that the organization believes he will be healthy and able moving forward.
