Alabama Baseball Takes on FSU in Fall Baseball Exhibition

The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball program split its final fall ball exhibition on Saturday. The Tide defeated Florida State 5-3 in Game 1 and lost 2-0 to the Seminoles in Game 2.
Alabama featured a number of pitchers who accumulated 16 strikeouts across 12 innings of work. Riley Quick started Game 2 and was the only Alabama pitcher to appear for more than one inning.
In Game 1 Alabama utilized the home run as Evan Sleight and Camden Hayslip each hit solo home runs, but it was Bryce Eblin whose three-run shot propelled the Tide to victory.
"These fall exhibitions showed us what we’re capable of doing, especially after playing really good teams like Auburn and Florida State. It also showed us what we have got to get better at and that’s the point of these," said Alabama head baseball coach Rob Vaughn. "You want to play these teams that help you to see where you have got to grow, and I think this group’s got a high upside, they’ve got a lot of confidence in what they’re doing. They also have a good awareness of what we have to get better at, and that’s what we’ll work on between now and February.”
There's no football on Saturday but the Crimson Tide is still hosting an on-campus event as the baseball program hosts the Florida State Seminoles at noon.
Alabama and Florida State are set to play two six-inning games to close out the fall ball season.
Admission is free for those attending the showcase in Sewell-Thomas Stadium. It will be the second live action for the Tide after hiring Rob Vaughn to take over the program in the offseason.
