'Everybody is Getting Better' – Alabama OL Tyler Booker Pleased With Running Back Room

Noting improvement across the board, Booker expressed his optimism about the team's running backs on Tuesday.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama football's running back ensemble is garnering attention and praise this spring, especially from within the team.

Tyler Booker, the Crimson Tide's starting left guard, expressed his enthusiasm and optimism about the group's potential on Tuesday ahead of Saturday's A-Day game.

"I'm very excited for all of them because everybody is getting better," Booker said. "I'm seeing so much growth from everybody."

Redshirt freshman Richard Young, in particular, has shown an enhanced forbearance in his play style, according to Booker.

"Richard [Young] used to see a hole, and hit it," Booker said. "Now he's being a little more patient. Reading everything. I'm very excited to see him perform."

Junior Jam Miller's impact on the field hasn't gone unnoticed, either. According to Booker, Miller's presence in the game is simply undeniable.

"Jam [Miller], whenever he's been out there, he's been a force," Booker said. "So I'm excited to see him get more reps this year."

Justise Haynes, not to be overlooked in the Crimson Tide's talented running back stable, made a notable impact as a true freshman last year, too. Accumulating 168 yards and scoring two touchdowns on the ground, Haynes showcased his potential last season as former five-star recruit, and looks to be a key player for Alabama in 2024 as the spring season changes to summer.

Given the progress and talent of players like Young and Miller, Haynes adds yet another layer of depth that could prove invaluable over the season. As he continues to develop and adapt to the collegiate level, his growth could mirror the overall improvement that Booker has observed in the running back room, and might just suggest that the Crimson Tide's ground game could take the SEC by storm once more under Kalen DeBoer.

Booker, along with the dynamic group of running backs he supports, is gearing up to demonstrate their skills to fans at the eagerly awaited A-Day game on Saturday. Kickoff at Bryant-Denny Stadium is slated for 3:00 p.m. CT.
