The No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide football program is getting set for a College Football Playoff semifinal game in the Rose Bowl against No. 1 Michigan, but Nick Saban is always working ahead.

The Crimson Tide has added its first offensive player out of the transfer portal in former Texas A&M offensive lineman Naquil Bertrand, who announced on social media Saturday afternoon.

Bertrand is a former 3-star prospect out of Philadelphia, Pa. in the class of 2023. He was considered the No. 19 prospect in the state in Pennsylvania and the No. 55 overall offensive tackle in the class.

"I still think we're kind of out there in the market looking for some more those kind of guys, offensive linemen," said Saban on National Early Signing Date. "Just from a numbers standpoint and from a quality, experience standpoint so we're excited to have them and we're still out there looking to try to add some people at that position."

Bertrand  stands at 6-foot-6, 350-pounds but did not see the field as freshman for the Texas A&M Aggies. He instead took a redshirt year and will have four years of eligibility to play for the Crimson Tide.

The offensive lineman becomes Alabama's first incoming transfer on the offensive side of the ball and its third incoming transfer of the cycle, joining LT Overton and Domani Jackson. Bertrand joins Overton as the second Aggie to leave College Station and find their way to Tuscaloosa.

The Tide will undoubtedly look to continue to add talent to the 2024 roster by way of the transfer portal as the cycle nears its completion.
