TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The countdown continues.
The Alabama Crimson Tide opens its season on Saturday, Sept. 2 against the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The fourth-ranked Crimson Tide held practice outdoors on Tuesday afternoon as the season draws closer.
"Identity — being physical on offense is something we’re focusing on," running back Jase McClellan said. "Being able to be balanced, passing the ball, running the ball. Doing everything possible. Just being the standard still. Show people we’re still the standard. It’s Alabama."
"It definitely has been hot for this camp," outside linebacker Chris Braswell said. "It’s probably one of my hottest fall camps. But you know, as far as like the camp situation, it has been hard because we’re trying to build a better foundation. Remain disciplined and just go out there and work hard, working on all the little things that we need to get better."
Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on the SEC Network.
"We've always had great fan support regardless of where we played regardless," head coach Nick Saban said. "There's always been great enthusiasm. I think our fans are a big part of the team. The atmosphere they create during games is something that's part of the tradition around here that makes guys wanna play here, whether they're recruits coming to see the game or whether they're players on the field. It's always important. This game is important to us. It's important for this team to create an identity and the fans can have a significant impact on that with their energy and enthusiasm."
