Report: SEC Nework's 11 a.m. CT Football Games Can Now be Pushed Back

In this story:
There's been a consensus dislike for 11 a.m. CT kickoffs to Alabama football games for a while. However, it was reported that SEC Network can delay start times as soon as the 2024 season.
"Desiring an all-day SEC football feel, SEC Network game start times can now be pushed back 45 minutes to lead to more staggered finishes, i.e. moving from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. CT. kickoff time," 247 Sports' John Talty and Alex Scarbrough write. "A typical SEC Network slate would now look like 11:45 a.m. CT, 3:15 p.m. CT and 6:45 p.m. CT while ABC and ESPN games would keep their typical start times. The SEC and ESPN will have the ability to flex ABC and ESPN afternoon and night games a limited amount of times per school."
Additionally, the SEC will continue with its 8-game conference schedule for at least the 2025 season.
This news comes about one week after the Alabama football team announced its April 13 A-Day spring scrimmage will be broadcast on ESPN at 3 p.m. CT.
Also in February, UA also announced which date on the 2024 football schedule will serve as the yearly homecoming game — the October 26 matchup with Missouri. Alabama is 88-13-1 all-time in homecoming games, and is currently on a 21-game win streak in such games.
The Crimson Tide won its 2023 homecoming game over Arkansas by a final score of 24-21.
Game time for the Crimson Tide's homecoming tilt with Missouri will be announced in the future. More information on A-Day, including additional activities, traffic and parking will be posted on rolltide.com when it becomes available.
