Where Was Alabama in Second 2023-24 College Football Playoff Rankings?

In this story:
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Alabama Crimson Tide is stuck in a standstill.
Despite rolling over LSU in the fourth quarter on Saturday night, Alabama stayed put at No. 8 in Tuesday night's release of the College Football Playoff Top 25.
The Crimson Tide isn't doing anything wrong, but neither are the programs in front. Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, Florida State, Washington, Oregon and Texas all won last weekend. The Longhorns still hold the head-to-head win over Alabama.

Nobody expected the Crimson Tide to be in the top-5, but there is debate between No. 6 to No. 8. One-loss Oregon remains over one-loss Alabama, despite having a statistically less impressive resume this season.
Alabama is No. 4 in strength of record and No. 8 strength of schedule. The Ducks sit at No. 10 and No. 63 in those categories, respectively.
By the numbers, the Ducks do have a better loss, on the road at No. 5 Washington.
The Crimson Tide will likely remain behind Texas as long as the Longhorns don't lose another game. That loss on Sept. 9 could eventually be very significant.
"Texas has a win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa, which is a significant game overall this season," CFP chair Boo Corrigan said on ESPN's release show. "As we look at that, as well as Oregon continuing to play really well, their win over Utah and the balance of the top-5 offense and the top-50 defense."
"If Texas wins out and Alabama wins out, there’s no way Alabama is going ahead of Texas," ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit said. "So I don’t know what’s going to happen around them, but can you imagine if Alabama were to knock off Georgia and Texas were to win the Big 12? What in the heck do you do with Alabama? I think the debate becomes more about Alabama and an Oregon / Washington discussion if Oregon were to win out. There’s no way Texas is going to be left out and Alabama ends up being the SEC champ."
