Scouting Report

247Sports' National Recruiting Analyst: Cooper Petagna

Unverified at 6-foot-4 and 265-pounds, appears to possess a long frame with growth potential to add considerable weight to his frame. Displays good athleticism and position versatility at the defensive line position where he’s predominantly positioned as a three technique in a four down front.

Flashes a quick first step off the line of scrimmage and demonstrates good foot and body quickness for his size. Shows the ability to win with athleticism at the point of attack but will need to continue to develop his ability to consistently play with power and above average play strength when attracting double teams. Understands how to utilize his length to disrupt passing lanes and can be used off the edge or as a nose in certain passing down situations.

Projects as a multi-year Power Five starter at the next level that will more than likely need a year to develop in a strength and conditioning program before seeing considerable playing time. Possesses a variety of redeeming qualities, including a raw combination of size, length, and athleticism. Will ultimately need a year or two of polish but has an ascending athletic ceiling that projects well to the next level.
