Alabama Offers 4-Star Cornerback in 2024 Class

In this story:
Alabama Football has offered another prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. This time, to a defensive player from California. The offer comes after Alabama offered two offensive players earlier Thursday.
Marcelles Williams, listed at 6-foot, 175-pounds, is a 4-star prospect at cornerback from Bellflower, California, where he plays for St. John Bosco High School. He is listed as a top-five player in both California and at his position.

Williams holds offers from other top programs in the country like as Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, and USC. He currently has a brother playing for USC and another for Arizona State.
The defensive back has also garnered SEC attention, with current SEC schools Texas A&M, Tennessee, Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn, and Arkansas extending offers as well as 2 future SEC schools in Texas and Oklahoma.
While Williams was previously planning other visits in the spring and hoped to have a decision made by the summer before his senior year, with an offer from Alabama now in the mix, it's possible that he may decide to change some plans. Because he has not committed to a school, a commitment to Alabama would not be considered a "flip," although most projections have Williams staying on the West Coast for his college career.
Alabama currently has one defensive back committed in the class of 2024. If Williams were to choose the Crimson Tide, he would work under defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson, plus head coach Nick Saban, who works closely with the secondary.
