2022 Running Back Le'Veon Moss Decommits from Alabama

The Louisiana product was the second running back to join the Crimson Tide's 2022 class, and has re-opened his recruitment.

Running back Le'Veon Moss has decommitted from Alabama. The 2022 recruit has decided to once again re-open his recruitment and consider other options, he announced via Twitter.

With Moss on board, the Crimson Tide had 14 verbal commitments in its 2022 recruiting class. That number is now 13 upon his decision to look elsewhere and continue the process of choosing a college destination.

The Istrouma, Louisiana, native pledged to Alabama on June 6, less than one week after on-campus visits resumed, as head coach Nick Saban and staff began to make a recruiting run in the summer months.

Moss chose Alabama over SEC West rivals LSU and Texas A&M, and both the Tigers and Aggies have remained in pursuit of the running back from the Bayou State.

Upon his pledge to the Capstone, the Crimson Tide had already received a commitment from another top running back prospect in the 2022 class, in-state product Emmanuel Henderson of Geneva County.

In its latest release of college football team recruiting rankings, SI All-American ranked Alabama as the second-best class of 2022 thus far, trailing only Penn State as of August 2.

That followed the Crimson Tide's pledges of July, including in-state prospects defensive end Jeremiah Alexander, defensive back Antonio Kite, and wide receiver Kobe Prentice. Offensive linemen Dayne Shor and Tyler Booker, along with linebacker Shawn Murphy, also made their choice of Alabama last month.

Moss, meanwhile, opens his options once again and will have the choice of multiple high-level programs that are vying for his commitment and, ultimately, his signature before next spring.
