Is Penn State Going To Pull A Recruiting 'Shocker' Over Auburn?

The Nittany Lions Are Picked To Win A Key Recruitment

It's not often that a top high school football recruit leaves the state of Alabama and heads to Big 10 country, but perhaps this is the year.

Ohio State already nabbed cornerback Na'eem Offord from Birmingham (Ala.) Parker and perhaps there's another surprise coming. According to 247's Tom Loy, he has Penn State swooping into the Yellowhammer State and landing the #94 player in the nation with his crystal ball pick. That recruit would be Elba (Ala.) High School running back Alvin Henderson.

Loy is a veteran in the recruiting field and had this to say as to why he's picking PSU to win Henderson's commitment:

"I don't believe there is a coach he's closer with or respects more than Penn State running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider. In addition, I'm not sure there is a head coach he enjoys being around more than Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin."

Henderson has been to Auburn numerous times in the past year, including three of the last four times I've attended an Auburn practice. He lives less than two hours from Auburn's campus as well. Henderson did, however, visit Penn State this past weekend.

Maybe he wants to see something different for his college choice? Beyond Auburn, the other contenders are Florida State, Miami, and Oregon.
