Auburn football's 2024 class has one of the highest average player ratings in the country

Auburn football is currently bringing the heat on the recruiting trail.

Hugh Freeze flipped two five-star prospects away from Georgia and Alabama this past week, bringing the Tigers' 2024 recruiting class up inside the top 25 nationally across major recruiting outlets.

According to 247Sports, the additions of linebacker Demarcus Riddick, Perry Thompson and Malcolm Simmons, Auburn has an average player rating of 91.85. That average player rating is good for 5th nationally.

This is what the top ten looks like on 247Sports when you sort the recruiting rankings by average player rating:

1. Ohio State (93.54, No. 2 class)

2. Georgia (93.44, No. 1 class)

3. Alabama (93.04, No. 14 class)

4. USC (91.93, No. 13 class)

5. Auburn (91.85, No. 17 class)

6. Florida (91.72, No. 3 class)

7. Clemson (91.40, No. 9 class)

8. Tennessee (91.39, No. 8 class)

9. Texas A&M (91.39, No. 10 class)

10. Florida State (90.97, No. 6 class)

Currently the only thing hurting Auburn in the 2024 class rankings is volume. The more recruits the Tigers pick up, the higher they should climb in the rankings.

Right now, Auburn's class is incredibly strong in terms of average player rating. Potentially landing five-star KJ Bolden would be massive for the cycle.

Things are looking up in a big way on the recruiting trail for Auburn.
