In this story:

There is something about landing a basketball recruit that sends the Jungle into a frenzy. That is precisely what happened when Auburn landed four-star point guard Labaron Philon

Philon chose Auburn over some great programs like Kansas, Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee.

Adding this talented guard brought the 2024 class commit total to three as Philon joined Peyton Marshall and Tahaad Pettiford.

These three commits have Auburn as the fifth overall 2024 recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports.

It's been a while since the coaching staff has brought in two guards from high school in a single recruiting class, so hopefully, Pettiford and Philon can become a deadly one-two punch.

Philon is a big guard standing six-foot-four and weighing 177-pounds. This is exciting as we rarely see tall guards in an Auburn uniform.

He can shoot the ball from all over the court and finishes around the rim well.

His size will help him shut down opposing guards who try to shoot over him or get around him to the basket.

This was a massive get for the Tigers, and this 2024 recruiting class could be one of the best ones Coach Pearl has brought in during his time on the Plains.

Let's see just how hyped Auburn Twitter was to land this talented guard from Mobile.
