Fall camp: August 10th practice notes and observations

In this story:
The Auburn Tigers practice indoors for the second time this fall camp.
It was a slow day overall, but here's what we saw during the media viewing window of Auburn's sixth practice of camp:
Payton Thorne was out with the first-team offense once again.
All rotations ran run and pass plays against air during drills.
The offensive line was unchanged:
RT Gunner Britton
RG Kam Stutts
C Avery Jones
LG Tate Johnson
LT Dillon Wade
Jarquez Hunter was your RB1 and Rivaldo Fairweather was the starting tight end.
The most interesting takeaway from the window was the set of first-team receivers. Nick Mardner lined up far right side as the Z receiver, with Jay Fair in the slot. Omari Kelly was the X on the left side. It was an odd starting group.
Payton Thorne threw a really nice ball down the seam to Micah Riley-Ducker off of play action. I've yet to see an Auburn quarterback throw with the zip and accuracy that he has.
Robby Ashford ran with the second-team alongside Damari Alston in the backfield. Shane Hooks (Z), Caleb Burton (slot), and Jyaire Shorter (X) were the second-team receivers. Luke Deal was TE2.
Malcolm Johnson Jr. checked in for Hooks when the second-team offense ran out for a second time.
During Ashford's time with the offense Auburn ran some interesting plays. Alston split out near the right sideline outside of Hooks, then was motioned in and kept running to the other side of the field one the ball was snapped. Ashford threw to Hooks on a curl from where Alston came from.
Ashford also threw a nice pass to Hooks on a slant, but nearly missed Alston on a swing pass.
Holden Geriner ran with the third-team offense, with Malcolm Johnson Jr. (Z), Jay Fair (slot), and Jyaire Shorter (X) as the third-team receivers. Brian Battie was RB3 and Tyler Fromm was tight end.
Freshman offensive lineman Tyler Johnson is massive.
On the second round with the first-team, Riley-Ducker came in for Fairweather and Sean Jackson for Hunter.
Auburn also ran a screen to Caleb Burton on the left side while Jeremiah Cobb swung out to the right. Ashford was QB.
The Tigers then stretched for the remainder of the window.
