Philip Montgomery shared his thoughts on the quarterback battle

Auburn offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery was asked about the quarterback battle during his recent press conference, and this is what he had to say, "I've been pleased with their progression and what they're doing... we've still got a long way to go before who we figure out who our starting quarterback is... I've been pleased with our RPO game, with them taking advantage of opportunities when they present themselves."

I don't know how much I buy this, as all signs point to Payton Thorne being the guy, but I am glad that all three guys in the race are getting a fair shot.

At SEC Media Days, Coach Freeze said he wanted to get the race from three to two after ten days, so we might know something by the end of this week.

Thorne, Robby Ashford, and Holden Geriner all bring something different to the table, so it will be interesting to see who wins this battle.

I am still a firm believer that Thorne will jog out first against UMass for the Auburn Tigers.

It's great to hear that all of the quarterbacks are doing well learning the RPO system quickly.
