10 Highest-Graded Players from BYU's Loss to Kansas

BYU kicked off conference play with a 38-27 loss to Kansas. BYU allowed two defensive scores off turnovers and that was the difference in the game. Here are the 10 highest-graded individual players from BYU's win according to Pro Football Focus (minimum of 15 snaps played).
1. Paul Maile - 72.4
Center Paul Maile received the highest PFF grade in the loss to Kansas. Maile received a good pass-blocking grade (82.7) and the best run-blocking grade among the offensive line (64.0).
2. John Nelson - 70.3
John Nelson continues to impress the evaluators at PFF in limited opportunities. Nelson was the highest-graded players on the defense. He was credited with a QB hurry and a stop.
3. Brayden Keim - 70.1
Brayden Keim got his first start at right tackle against Kansas and he made the most of it. Keim replaced Caleb Etienne in the starting lineup and he graded out much higher than Etienne has this season.
4. Kedon Slovis - 70.0
Outside of a forced throw that turned into a pick-six, Kedon Slovis played a very good game against the Jayhawks. Slovis threw for 357 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions.
5. Kingsley Suamataia - 69.6
Starting left tackle Kingsley Suamataia had the second-best pass-blocking grade on the team against Kansas. 69.9 also represents the highest grade of the season for Suamataia. Suamataia left the game in the second half due to injury but returned for the last few drives of the game.
6. Weylin Lapuaho - 69.2
Another offensive lineman, Weylin Lapuaho had the best pass-blocking grade on the team. Lapuaho left the game due to injury. His injury status for Cincinnati is unknown.
7. Keelan Marion - 67.8
Keelan Marion had two receptions for 47 yards including a long reception of 37 yards. Marion and Slovis hooked up for a long throw that was nearly identical to the play against Arkansas.
8. Jackson Cravens - 67.2
Jackson Cravens has quietly been one of the best players on the team this season. Cravens graded out better than all but one player on defense against Kansas. He had one quarterback hurry and he had one of the best run defense grades.
9. Isaac Rex - 67.1
Isaac Rex has emerged as Kedon Slovis' favorite target this season. Rex had 7 receptions for 76 yards against Kansas.
10. Blake Mangelson - 66.2
Blake Mangelson continues to play well in limited opportunities. Mangelson had the best run defense grade against the Jayhawks.
