The Good, Bad, And Ugly From Cincinnati’s Heartbreaking Loss Against Oklahoma State

Cincinnati has some good, bad, and ugly points in the brutal defeat against the Cowboys

CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Bearcats lost a heartbreaker at home against the Oklahoma State Cowboys 80-76. The final seconds came to a close with the Cowboys narrowly defeating the Bearcats as 10.5-point underdogs.

Here's the Good, Bad, and Ugly from the Bearcats' defeat.

The Good: Simas Lukošius had a nice performance, putting up 17 points (tied for the second-highest amount he has produced all season). He shot 50% from the field and 75% behind the arc. The Cincinnati standout was a big reason why the Bearcats were in this game down the stretch.

Rebounds also played a bit of a factor as the Bearcats outrebounded the Cowboys 32-26 on the night, but not enough to get the win.

The Bad: The assist category was significantly lower for the Bearcats as they posted a 20-11 deficit. Assists will always be a key factor in games like this and it just so happens to be that the team with the higher assist count is the victor in the end. The ball movement wasn't fluid enough for UC, and the on-ball defense was even worse defensively.

The Ugly: They were already in a hot seat situation for March Madness and this loss is more damaging than almost any of their other losses. Cincinnati is now just 2-5 in conference home games (the worst mark of any Big 12 team).
