Ahmad 'Sauce' Gardner: Bills Win 'Felt Like College Again'

CINCINNATI — New York Jets rookie cornerback Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner flashed back to his UC days on Sunday.
The rookie picked off his second pass of the season and also kept former AAC-foe Gabriel Davis from making a game-winning catch to close the Jets' 20-17 win over Buffalo.

Gardner talked about how it felt like being back at UC following the win.
"I knew (Allen) just wasn't going to throw it to the corner route," Gardner said after the game. "I just had to be able to run, you know he turned it up, have little subtle push off, but I was able to hang with him. (Davis) was a guy I was battling with my freshman year in college, he went to UCF man, so it felt like college again for sure."
Josh Allen went after Gardner more times than most QBs on Sunday, to no avail. Gardner finished with seven tackles, one interception, and one pass break up.
"I'm a rookie, so they're gonna try me, and the fact that I just had opportunities to just prove to my brothers, to the coaches, to the organization, to the veterans that I'm just not the average rookie," Gardner said.
Next up for the Defensive Rookie of the Year frontrunner? A return trip to Cincinnati for Nip at Night, as the Jets enjoy their bye week.
