New Mexico Linebacker Dion Hunter Commits to Cincinnati

Cincinnati has been active in the portal throughout this spring.

CINCINNATI — UC football landed a transfer commitment from New Mexico linebacker Dion Hunter.

The redshirt sophomore has three years of eligibility left after posting 69 tackles 1 pass breakup, 2 sacks, and 3 TFLs across nine games last season.

He struggled despite the strong raw numbers last season. Hunter posted a 56.5 overall PFF grade. That ranked 49th out of 80 Mountain West linebackers last season.

Hunter factors in as a rotational piece in the middle of Cincinnati's linebacker unit. The team has filled that unit out with a couple of transfers since Scott Satterfield took over as it looks to carry on a strong linebacker run over the past few seasons.
