Report: Ahmad 'Sauce' Gardner Entering 2022 NFL Draft

Gardner is the first true junior in program history to enter the draft.

CINCINNATI — Sauce is ready to enter the professional ranks.

According to Pete Thamel, Ahmad Gardner is declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Gardner is a consensus first-round pick who never allowed a touchdown in coverage during his UC career. He played an island most of the Bearcats' historic season and didn't allow more than 20 receiving yards in a game.

The cornerback will be Cincinnati's first opening-round NFL Draft pick since DT Bob Bell went at No. 21 in 1971 if Gardner's selected with any of the first 32 picks. According to Bearcat Journal, Sauce is the first true junior in program history to enter the NFL Draft.
