Jason Kelce Dives Into Wooing Joe Burrow to UC, New Heights Live Impact on Cincinnati Athletics
The Bearcats most well-known football alums are back in town.
CINCINNATI — The Bearcats are welcoming back the Kelce brothers this week as Jason met with the media on Thursday to discuss the impact of New Heights Live on the university. He also dove into his attempt to get Joe Burrow to choose UC over LSU in 2018.
"When Joe was transferring out of Ohio State, I sent him a text on behalf of Cincinnati trying to lure him to the university," Kelce said in a media scrum before sarcastically talking about what could've happened. "Who knows what could've been. He could've been such a good player if he would've just come here."
Burrow ended up doing just fine for himself as a No. 1 NFL Draft pick out of LSU. Cincinnati also got great moments from Desmond Ridder as a ripple effect.
A portion of the ticket sale proceeds from tonight's event are getting donated to Cincy Reigns, the official NIL collective of Cincinnati Athletics.
"Travis and I are both incredibly honored," Jason said about the live event. "Anytime we come back there is such a wave of emotion and memories that really hit you."
Kelce just wrapped up a hall of fame NFL career, with a foundation built during his time at Cincinnati. Events like this will help other prospective Bearcats reach those kind of heights down the line. The fun gets rolling at 7 p.m. inside Fifth Third Arena.
