2026 Offensive Lineman Landry Brede Breaks Down Cincinnati Bearcats Visits

2026 offensive lineman talks about his past visits to his home state team

TUNNEL HILL — Landry Brede is an unranked offensive lineman in the class of 2026. He plays football at Mentor High School in Mentor, Ohio.

He recently detailed his visit with the Cincinnati Bearcats and recalled his past visits.

Cincinnati has been a great experience on both of my visits. When I was there in November for the game against Kansas the energy was fantastic,” Brede stated to Bearcats Talk. “It was an honor to receive an offer on that first trip. Since then, I have had several opportunities to talk with the coaching staff. This latest visit was a chance to spend more time talking to Coach (Nic) Cardwell since it wasn’t a game day. Everyone is very welcoming and I feel valued when I am in Cincy. That’s really the big stand out for me.

“This trip was also a great chance to see the culture amongst the players and coaches. It was great to see the players going hard but also having a bit of fun out there as they worked to improve their game. I think it’s important to find that program that feels right for me. And I really like what I’ve seen so far at the University of Cincinnati.”

The 6-foot-5 285-pound lineman dove deeper into the world of coaching as he talked about which coaches have stood out.

“Coach Cardwell has definitely been the biggest presence in my recruiting experiences to date. He and Coach (Scott) Satterfield have both come out to Mentor High to visit. Coach Cardwell does a great job of making you feel comfortable talking about anything. He made it clear to me early on that he wants me to be a Bearcat.

“Wherever I end up, I want to make a big impact. I’m really focusing on improving my skills right now. My sophomore year was a transition year, switching over to offense for the first time. I had a lot of success against some highly recruited players, so I’m happy with my results so far. In addition to spending this offseason working with my coaches and team at Mentor, I’ve been doing some additional skill training alongside some of the best linemen in the Midwest, as well as focusing on my footwork, strength, and quickness. I’m excited to get back on the field this year and put this offseason’s work to the test.”

He plans to visit again.

“It’s early in the recruiting process, but UC has definitely made me feel valued, welcome, and at home. I’m looking forward to getting back down there again soon.”
