Bearcats Baseball Beats Tulane 8-1 in Opening Round of AAC Tournament
CINCINNATI — Griffin Merritt kept his hot hitting rolling for the Bearcats baseball team on Tuesday in an 8-1 victory over Tulane at the 2022 AAC Tournament.
Merritt smashed two home runs and finished 3-for-4 with two runs, a double, and five RBIs. Starting pitcher Beau Keathley fanned four Green Wave hitters and pitched a complete game—allowing one run.
Cincinnati has a day off before facing the winner of this afternoon's battle between No. 1 East Carolina and No. 8 South Florida. The Pirates were 2022 AAC regular-season champions and went 5-1 against UC this season. The game is set for 1 p.m. ET on Thursday.
