Cincinnati Bearcats Beat San Francisco Dons 73-72 in Overtime Thriller

Cincinnati moves on to the Second Round.

CINCINNATI — The Bearcats beat San Francisco 73-72 in overtime on Wednesday night to advance to the second round of the NIT.

Simas Lukosius hit a 3-pointer with three seconds remaining in overtime to secure the win.

Cincinnati led for most of the game, but the Dons hung around and even took the lead midway through the second half.

Lukosius led the way with 28 points, including a career-high eight 3-pointers. He was 8-of-10 from beyond-the-arc.

Dan Skillings also hit double figures, finishing with 16 points and seven rebounds on 7-of-14 shooting.

Malik Thomas hit a 3-pointer with nine seconds left to tie the game at 67 and force overtime. San Francisco went on an 11-2 run in the final 2:32 to tie the game.

The Bearcats were far from perfect, but they outrebounded the Dons and kept their composure, even when they lost momentum. Cincinnati outscored San Francisco 6-5 in overtime.
