Bearcats Offer JuCo All-American Yaxel Lendeborg, Two Other Prospects

The Bearcats have a few months remaining before they tip off the 2022-23 season.

CINCINNATI — Summer workouts are continuing for the Bearcats men's basketball team, and so are the scholarship offers. The team sent out three offers this week, starting with 2026 Garfield Heights (Ohio) guard Marcus Johnson.

You read that right, 2026. The incoming freshman is not on any databases, yet he already holds offers from West Virginia, Ohio, and Youngstown State on top of UC. the kid hasn't played a minute of high school ball but has the potential to be a top prospect in the state.

Next, we have Yaxel Lendeborg out of Arizona Western College.

The incoming sophomore at the community college had a stellar opening campaign in the desert. He was a third-team NJCAA All-American last season averaging 12 points, and 11 rebounds while shooting 60.7% from the floor.

The ACCAC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, Lendeborg is a dominant presence down low and one of the most sought-after JuCo prospects in the country.

We round out the offer list with 2023 three-star center Cyr Malonga out of Evangel Christian School.

According to 247Sports, Malonga is the 220th-ranked prospect nationally and the 28th-ranked center. He holds seven other offers from schools like Georgetown, and Georgia.
