Recruiting Roundup: UC Offers Ardell Banks, Jordan Ross

CINCINNATI — There are a few weeks left in the college football regular season, a perfect time to dive into another Recruiting Roundup.
We start with an offer to three-star edge rusher Jordan Ross out of Vestavia Hills (Alabama).
After a great conversation with @TheGuruStew , I am blessed to receive an offer from @GoBearcatsFB @1rebelfootball pic.twitter.com/K21Nvll2hr

According to 247Sports Composite, Ross is the 161st-ranked player in the 2024 class and the 16th-best edge rusher. He now holds eight offers from schools like Auburn, Georgia, and Penn State. On3 projects Georgia (38.1%) Tennessee (33.3%), and Kansas (28.6%) with the best chances to land him.
Ross is a dynamic talent on the outside. At 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, he has the prototypical frame to rush Big 12 passers. Ross is pretty raw with his edge moves, but he has the instincts for taking sound angles to ball carriers. He also waste no time in action and can drop back to the second level as a linebacker.
He made several plays on tape from the middle linebacker spot and profiles as a strong run defender early on. Check out his highlights here.
The back half of the Roundup belongs to 2023 three-star wide receiver Ardell Banks out of Washington (Ohio).
Blessed to have received my 7th D1 offer from The University of Cincinnati thanks to @Im_MikeB @CoachFick 🖤❤️ pic.twitter.com/8wzkLWfh5J
— Ardell Banks (@50kdell) November 6, 2022
According to 247Sports Composite, Banks is the 765th-ranked player nationally and the 103rd-ranked receiver. He is a late addition to the Bearcats' radar after de-committing from Toledo in September. Banks now holds seven D1 offers from schools like Kentucky, South Florida, and Pitt.
He is taking an official visit this upcoming weekend to check out Kentucky.
Banks is a track and football star at Washington—it shows on his tape. The 6-foot-4 talent can be the next great downfield threat for Cincinnati. He is a strong 50/50 ball winner with nice open-field vision and the ability to fight off hand jams at the line of scrimmage.
He's been steadily moving up the ranks throughout his career and could be another developmental success story for UC. Look for him to schedule a visit to Clifton in the coming weeks.
