We are underway from Atlanta and as we are, things took virtually no time to get exciting for the Hoosiers.

Follow along for updates all night long as Indiana looks to knock out Oregon and earn a trip to the College Football Playoff National Championship game.

Peach Bowl Live Blog: 1st Quarter

Indiana Strikes First - On Defense!

On the very first play of the game, Indiana defensive back D'Angelo Ponds intercepted Oregon quarterback Dante Moore's pass and returned it for a pick-six.

Early 7-0 lead for the Hoosiers.

Oregon and Dante Moore Respond

As expected, Moore didn't appear rattled after the pick-six on the first play of the game. He calmly led Oregon down the field for a nearly eight minute touchdown drive, throwing for 50 yards along the way. He found Jamari Johnson to cap the drive and even things up midway through the first quarter.

7-7.

Indiana Recaptures Lead with Opening Drive Touchdown

Fernando Mendoza was a perfect 4-4 passing on Indiana's first offensive possession of the game, throwing for 41 yards and a go-ahead touchdown to Omar Cooper. The best news of the opening drive for the Hoosiers (besides the touchdown) was that it averaged 5.6 yards per carry on seven attempts.

14-7 Indiana leads as we head to the second quarter.

Hoosiers Start Second Quarter with Stop

After a couple of first downs again by Oregon, Indiana forced a third and two on the Ducks. As he's done much of the year, Mikail Kamara penetrated the Ducks backfield and made a huge stop.

Indiana now gets a massive opportunity to make it a two-score lead early in the second quarter.

Indiana Stopped, Forces Turnover

Despite a Fernando Mendoza scramble for a first down, Indiana was unable to really get things going and was forced to punt.

For the second time tonight, Indiana then forces a turnover as Dante Moore fumbles in the shadow of his own goalpost and moments later, the Hoosiers stretch the lead to 21-7.

Blood in the Water Time for Hoosiers

After a first down by Oregon, Dante Moore is sacked twice and the Ducks are forced to punt.

Oregon has allowed a grand total of 18 sacks all year now.

8 of them are against the Hoosiers in just less than 1.5 of Oregon's nearly 15 games played. Unreal stat.

This is blood in the water time for Indiana. Sure, Oregon is one of the few teams nationally with the firepower to possibly comeback on the Hoosiers, but going up three touchdowns would be beyond massive.

Is Indiana the Greatest College Football Team of All-Time?

I'm trying to type and keep up with the action but instead of trying to do that, I simply have to ask the question.

After running through the regular season 12-0, winning the Big Ten championship over what was an Ohio State team that was thought to be the nation's best.

Since then, Indiana has only proceeded to send Alabama into the sun and is in the middle of doing the same to Oregon as it's taken a 35-7 lead just before halftime.

Just something to ponder...
