Five Teams for One Spot - Big 12 Week 10 Roundup

In this story:
The Kansas Jayhawks beating the Oklahoma State Cowboys to become bowl eligible was probably the biggest story in the conference this weekend, but there was a lot of other action, including some results that preserved the ability for Kansas to compete for a spot in the conference championship game.
With only one blowout (other than Kansas), there was a lot of excitement in the conference this week. So before we update our Big 12 Power Rankings, let's run through the results from around the rest of the league.
#7 TCU 34 - Texas Tech 24
The Horned Frogs benefitted from another quarterback injury when Texas Tech's Behren Morton suffered an injury to his ankle in Saturday's 34-24 TCU victory.
But it wasn't all good news for the Horned Frogs, as Quentin Johnston didn't play due to an ankle injury and linebacker Dee Winters will miss the first half of next week's Texas game due to a targeting foul in the third quarter.
The Red Raiders collapsed in the fourth quarter for the second straight week, and will look to try and turn around their fortunes against a resurgent Kansas squad next week.
Baylor 38 - Oklahoma 35
The Baylor Bears rode the running game to a close victory against the Oklahoma Sooners in only their second ever win in Norman. And the Sooner offense didn't help matters as quarterback Dillon Gabriel threw three first half interceptions.
The 38-35 victory puts Baylor solidly into the race for the Big 12 Championship game, and Oklahoma will have to wait at least another week to qualify for a bowl game in Brent Venables first season with the Sooners.
Iowa State 31- West Virginia 14
The West Virginia Mountaineers turned in another dreadful offensive performance as they fell on the road to the Iowa State Cyclones in a game that was close until a disastrous fourth quarter. A special teams penalty set the Cyclones up for their first touchdown of the second half just 1:36 into the final period, and they added two more touchdowns on Cartevious Norton runs to put the game out of reach.
Hunter Dekkers threw two touchdown passes on 219 yards, which was much better than the 124 yards total that were thrown by West Virginia quarterbacks. And the defense is just as good as ever for the Cyclones, who still have an opportunity to qualify for a bowl against two struggling teams with injuries at key positions in their next two games.
#24 Texas 34, #13 Kansas State 27
The Texas Longhorns finally held on to a double-digit fourth quarter lead, but not before they nearly gave it all back to the Kansas State Wildcats. But ultimately, Texas held on for their first road win of the season.
Bijan Robinson paced the Longhorn offense with his 209 yards rushing and 34 yards receiving, and Quinn Ewers threw two touchdown passes to Xavier Worthy to build a dominant 31-10 halftime lead. But the offense stalled out in the second half, and the defense had to hold off a furious rally by Adrian Martinez.
The Texas defense stymied Martinez for a majority of the game, but it took two fumbles on the final drive to finally put away the game and put Texas firmly in the race for the Big 12 Championship.
