Podcast: The Kansas Jayhawks Are In The Final Four
In case you haven't already heard, the Kansas Jayhawks are in the Final Four. They overcame a disappointing first half by completely shutting down the Miami Hurricanes in the second half while finding that elusive top gear on the offensive end.
In today's episode of the Rock Chalk Podcast, I was joined by Steve Fetch to break down what we saw in the game, which aspect of the team impressed us the most, what takeaways we had as the team moves to prepare for the Final Four, and some initial thoughts about the final four teams remaining the field.
We started by jumping into the second half, and discussing whether we were more impressed by the ability of the defense to shut down a highly-rated Miami Hurricanes offense, or by the offense finally getting contributions from all the main rotation players in an explosive second half of play.
Then we move on to individual player performances. There were plenty of impressive performances to pick from, and we try to make arguments for why each player we highlighted could have been the player of the game.
It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows though, as the first half did not go well for Kansas at all. We dove in to why that first half looked so different, and it might be surprising just how simple that difference can be explained.
Finally, we looked ahead a bit to the Final Four. This may be a dream scenario for TV executives, but what about Kansas fans? We run you through an extremely high-level and early look at Villanova and a potential title game matchup.
