Jaylen "Hollywood" Bell just earned an offer to play football at the University of Miami.

"It was everything," the four star defensive back told me. "Going through the whole visit, seeing how Miami is built and seeing the atmosphere and the way the team was practicing. It really got my attention. I loved it. I loved the visit. Receiving that offer at the end of the (visit) meant the world to me."

The Grayson HS (Loganville, GA) standout visited Miami with his father last Friday. He enjoyed the competition levels he saw during Miami's spring football practice.

"It started off early with the competition. Watching Joshisa Trader and Daryl Porter Jr just go at it, that was one of those experiences that any wide receiver or DB will want to witness. They were competing and sharpening each other's iron.

It's clear that football IQ is important to Bell. Prior to practice, he and his father sat in on the defensive backs meeting. He told me he wants to learn everything he can from his college visits so that he can take extra techniques home with him for his upcoming senior season.

Bell said he talks to Miami's cornerbacks coach Chevis Jackson every single day. Jackson has been in constant contact with Bell since leaving Marshall for Miami a few weeks ago.

Miami's campus also made a great impression.

"We toured campus, we got to see the dorms and learn a lot about the academics," said Bell. "We saw all the college kids out there enjoying themselves. It just looked like a permanent vacation. It's Miami. The weather is unbelievable."

Bell told me he wants to study meteorology. South Florida's unique weather and Miami's vicinity to the National Hurricane Center could make The U a great fit for that.

I asked Bell when he plans to make a decision. He told me he plans to verbally commit to his school of choice before his senior high school season starts next fall.

He told me the other schools that are currently standing out to him are Indiana, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, West Virginia, and UCF.

Bell told me he's already talking with his family about making a return trip down to Coral Gables.
